Even though it’s been years since her Miss Universe crowning, Catriona Gray’s spotlight hasn’t dimmed one bit. In fact, she hasn’t stopped wowing us with her outstanding feats, which come one after the other.
This 2022, she’s become the first-ever Filipino to be immortalized in wax by Madame Tussauds Singapore.
The life-size replica of the Filipina beauty queen was recently unveiled by the one-of-a-kind wax museum dressed in her iconic lava gown designed by Mak Tumang and accessorized with her trendsetting stars and sun cuff earring.
nt was a replica of the dress Gray wore at the 2018 Miss Universe coronation night in Thailand where she showcased her much-talked-about ‘lava walk.’
According to PH’s fourth Miss Universe, having her very own wax figure at Madame Tussauds is a “surreal” experience.
“Who’s that girl 👀 what a surreal moment to (FINALLY!) launch my very own wax figure at @mtssingapore after 3 years! Kiliiiig akoooo!”
“I’m so honored and flattered to be the only Filipino wax figure here in MT Singapore! 🤩🇵🇭,” she wrote on Instagram.
“We chose the ‘final walk’ look from @missuniverse sans MU sash and crown, because the interactive concept is to “LavaWalk” with me. 🥰 Also as the only Filipino in MT Singapore, it brings me so much pride to have the PHILIPPINES sash front and center,” Gray explained.
During the unveiling, the 28-year-old took the opportunity to uplift Filipinos.
“Yes, it is a wax figure of me, but in the dress and the accessories, it was Filipino talent that really allowed me to be at that standard that is so appreciated today…. I really lift this honor to my fellow kababayans, to my fellow Filipino.”
