To better address the medical needs of those with kidney ailments in Parañaque, the city’s local government is going to offer free dialysis treatment.

According to Mayor Edwin Olivarez, a new dialysis facility will be established at Ospital ng Paranaque’s (OSPAR-1) ground floor. Construction of the said center has been going on since March and is expected to finish this May 15 with services to operate starting in June.

Olivarez noted that a similar facility will also be set up at the second floor of OSPAR-2, which means more people will be accommodated for treatment. Construction of this center will start immediately after the first facility finishes.

The two dialysis facilities, said Dr. Jefferson Pagsisihan, are a joint venture between the Parañaque government and Premier 101 Health Care Management Inc. – the latter handled the construction of the first facility and will do the same for the second.

Apart from construction, Premier 101 Health Care Management Inc. will also provide the machinery and supplies that the dialysis treatment requires.

Pagsisishan said the two dialysis centers will provide free dialysis treatment even to those who are not residents of Parañaque. The charges will be handled by Philhealth, Malasakit Center, the Department of Health (DOH) medical assistance program, and the city government, he noted.
