Filipina-British singer/songwriter beabadoobee is one of the artists chosen to perform in this year’s edition of Coachella – one of the biggest and most popular music festivals in the USA.
The 21-year-old musician, who’s currently based in the UK, is scheduled to hit the stage on April 17 and 24.
“Playin on Sunday babyyyyyy,” she wrote on Instagram.
She becomes the youngest Filipino artist to perform at Coachella and the second after Guendoline Rome Viray Gomez, more popularly known by his stage name “No Rome,” who performed at the festival in 2019.
This year’s iteration is going to be one of the most massive in the festival’s history after being postponed in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19. It will be headlined by Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Ye, and Swedish House Mafia and will take place over two weekends.
Other artists set to perform are Lil Baby, Phoebe Bridgers, Flume, Megan Thee Stallion, Disclosure, 21 Savage, Danny Elfman, Doja Cat, Joji, Jamie xx, and Run the Jewels, among others.
Beabadobee, whose real name is Beatrice Kristi Laus, was born in Iloilo City and moved to London at the age of three. She cites the Eraserheads and the Apo Hiking Society as musical influences.
In October 2020, she released her debut album “Fake It Flowers.”
