In celebration of Labor Day in the Philippines, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will organize 24 job fairs across the country. 

The career expos will facilitate the hiring of 64,485 job vacancies of which 52,237 are for local employment while the remaining 12,248 are job vacancies in various countries.

The majority of the locally available positions are production and machine operators, customer service representatives, collection specialists, sales agents, promodisers, and market research interviewers.

Meanwhile, the top overseas employment opportunities are for positions like nurses and nurse aides, waiters, household service workers, kitchen helpers, assistant cooks, and salespersons. These available roles are from the Middle East, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore.

DOLE said the job fairs will be set up on May 1 and will be present in almost all regions. 

For those in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), the career fair will be held at the Baguio Convention Center. Those living in Cagayan Valley can participate by going to Robinson’s Place Santiago, Isabela. In Central Luzon, it will be held at the Kingsborough International Convention Center (Main Event) in San Fernando, Pampanga.

In Region 4A, here are the job fair sites:

  • St. Thomas Academy Gymnasium, Poblacion 3, City of Sto. Tomas, Batangas
  • Vista Mall, San Agustin, Dasmariñas, Cavite
  • Camp Vicente Lim, Brgy. Canlubang, Calamba, Laguna
  • Pacific Mall, ML Tagarao St., Brgy 3, Lucena City, Quezon
  • Ynares Event Center Capitol Grounds, Antipolo City, Rizal

For Region 4B, applicants will be entertained at the Robinsons Place Palawan, National Highway, Brgy. San Manuel, Puerto Princesa City.

In Bicol Region, Robinsons Place Naga in Camarines Sur will serve as the venue for the job fair. For Western Visayas, it will be SM City Iloilo, Iloilo City. Those in Central Visayas can go to SM Trade Hall, SM City Cebu, Juan Luna Ave. Ext., Cebu City and Lamberto Macias Sports Complex, Capitol Area, Dumaguete City. Meanwhile, in Eastern Visayas, it’s the Robinsons North Tacloban.

In Mindanao, the job expo venues are at the following:

  • East Wing, Ground Floor, KCC Mall de Zamboanga, Zamboanga City
  • University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, Cagayan de Oro City
  • NCCC Victoria, Bajada, Davao City
  • KCC Events Center, KCC Mall of Marbel, Koronadal City
  • Robinsons Place Butuan.

For Metro Manila, the job fair will be held at the Arroceros Forest Park, Manila Parañaque City Hall Grounds.

DOLE noted that all of these career fairs will be held starting May 1 except for those located in Northern Mindanao, which will start on April 28.
