Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala has reached another huge milestone after winning her second women’s professional championship title at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tennis Tour in Thailand.

Eala collected her most recent trophy and $25,000 in cash prize at the April 10 finals of W25 Chiang Rai, which she won by defeating hometown bet and Southeast Asian Games champion Luksika Kumkhum, 6-4, 6-2.

Before her decisive battle with Kumkhum, Eala beat Serbia’s Katarina Kozarov, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 in the initial round. In the semifinals, she trumped Chinese opponent YeXin Ma 6-3, 6-4.

Before her last stand against her Thai co-finalist, the 16-year-old tennis champion dispatched Momoko Kobori of Japan, 6-3, 6-3, and Patcharin Cheapchandej 6-3, 6-4.

With this win, Eala now has two professional championship titles under her belt – the first being the W15 Manacor in Spain last January 2021.
