Three Filipino restaurants managed to earn spots in this year’s 100 Best Asian Restaurants list.
Gallery by Chele, Antonio’s Tagaytay, and Toyo Eatery were included in the second half of the roster, specifically the top 51-100 bracket.
Bonifacio Global City’s Gallery by Chelle took the 69th spot, a placement it shared with India’s Comorin. In 2016 and 2017, it ranked in the 30s and last year took 90th place.
Meanwhile, Antonio’s Tagaytay placed 74th in the ranking for 2022— a significant improvement from its number 84 placing in last year’s list. The restaurant, which is helmed by Chef Tonyboy Escalante, is the first Filipino eating hub to be included in the annual list back in 2015 where it ranked at number 48.
Last but not least, Makati City’s Toyo Eatery occupied the 94th spot. Likewise, this isn’t the first time it earned a place in the prestigious roster—it ranked 49th in 2021, 44th in 2020, and 43rd in 2019.
The Best Asian Restaurants list is judged yearly by a panel of 300 culinary leaders around the world and features the hottest and best gastronomic destinations in the continent of Asia.
It was first released in 2013 and was created by William Reed Business Media.
