When it comes to art, Filipinos are among those at the forefront. It’s something that Pinoy artist Juanito Maiquez has proven to be true.

The 40-year-old toy creator and designer has been recognized by the prestigious New York Designer Toy Awards for three consecutive years – 2018, 2019, and 2020. 

Besides this, Maiquez, who doubles up as an art director, illustrator, graffiti artist, also bagged a two-year designing deal with world-renowned sportswear manufacturer Adidas, specifically the ‘Adidas x QUICCS’ line of toys, apparel, and shoes, back in 2019.

His most recent collaboration includes designing for NBA player James Harden’s shoe line with Adidas – the ‘Manila Heritage’ shoe. The basketball player even wore this specific design during a game.

Late last year, his latest team-up with Adidas was also released. It came in the form of ‘The Quiccs Forum,’ a reimagining of Adidas’ iconic Forum Low silhouette.
