In recognition of its unwavering dedication to sharing knowledge to Filipinos even amid the pandemic, the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) has been honored by the National Library of the Philippines. 

The city received a certificate for its outstanding performance of extending library services to 375,628 physical and online users in 2021. For going the extra mile to serve the public, PGB was also acknowledged as the top-performing public library in the country.

Director Cesar Gilbert Adriano and Head of Public Libraries Division Dr. Blesila P. Velasco, who both work for the Nationa Library, handed the award to the local government. 

Governor Daniel R. Fernando, who leads PGB, extended his gratitude to the National Library of the Philippines for the honor that his city received. 

Meanwhile, for their contributions in keeping knowledge accessible, the following received the Bulacan Provincial Library Award: 

  • Dr. Eliseo S. Dela Cruz, Head of Provincial History Arts and Culture Tourism Office (PHACTO) 
  • Marlon A. Hipolito, Provincial Librarian
  • May Arlene DG. Torres, History and Heritage Division Head
  • Cyrille Ann A. Dela Cruz, Assistant Program Coordinator
