To help with the country’s COVID-19 response, PlayPark PH and its community of gamers raised Php 1 million in donations for the Philippine General Hospital Medical Foundation Inc. and other charitable institutions that offer service or virus-stricken Filipinos.
The donations were pooled during the Cabal Mobile’s Charity Stream organized in August of this year, which managed to rake in Php 300,000 in donations. PlayPark PH, who organized the event, matched the amount collected during the charity stream, raising a total of Php 700,000.
The sum was officially turned over to the chosen organizations last September.
“In behalf of our kababayans affected by COVID-19, taos puso akong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng nagbigay ng tulong. Our community’s willingness and heart for sharing are beams of light in the midst of the pandemic,” said Managing Director for PlayPark Philippines Apollo Dionglay.
The group is planning to organize another charity stream to help people during the holiday seasons, specifically through their PlayPark Xtreme Paskuhan event.
PlayPark PH describes itself as “a one-stop portal for all gamers’ needs. In here, players can view community news updates, check out the latest ongoing events.”
The gaming hub also organizes events and competitions where Filipino gamers can show their skills when it comes to games.
