Jollibee Group Foundation (JGF), the social responsibility arm of the country’s top fast-food retailer, has donated COVID-19 vaccines to five of its partner organizations located in NCR, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Quezon Province, and Rizal.

JGF delivered a total of 1,000 vaccines to the local government units of Laguna, San Jose, Nueva Ecija, and Sariaya, Quezon, which were handed over to Ahon sa Hirap, Inc. (ASHI) and Tulay Sa Pag-unlad, Inc. (TSPI).

Meanwhile, the company also provided support to Xavier University–Ateneo de Cagayan, which it has partnered with to deliver the online course, “Agro-entrepreneurship for Inclusive Value Chains,” a program that aims to transform smallholder farmers into entrepreneurs. Sixty of the school staff, including teachers, were able to receive the vaccine.

Small-time farmers and their families who are part of JGF’s Farmer Entrepreneurship Program (FEP) were also vaccinated.

Indigent workers and families in Antipolo City also benefited from the donations. The company committed over 400 vaccines to the Kabuhayan sa Ganap na Kasarinlan Credit and Savings Cooperative (K-COOP), an organization assisting small-time business owners from low-income communities in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

JGF has helped over 1,500 partners thanks to its COVID-19 vaccine donations.

According to JGF Executive Director Gisela Tiongson, the company will continue to help and support communities during the pandemic through numerous social initiatives and programs targeting the underserved.

“The Jollibee Group and Jollibee Group Foundation have exerted much effort to help our partners and communities weather the effects of the pandemic—from our FoodAID Program and now through these free vaccines. Through this, we are able to ensure that they remain safe and healthy to continue their operations, while also safeguarding the health and well-being of the communities they serve,” Tiongson said.
