In partnership with the Quezon City local government, the country’s largest employer—Concentrix—officially launched its Adopt-A-Community Global Citizenship Program on November 18 (Thursday), which aims to showcase modern agricultural technologies and help communities grow their own food.

The initiative is being undertaken at a 2,000 square meter plot of land at Sunnyville, located between Barangay Pasong Tamo and Tandang Sora.

Concentrix’s program will work in conjunction with the QC government’s GrowQC Food Security Program, which promotes sustainable food systems.

The urban agriculture projects are part of Concentrix and the QC gov’t’s commitment to supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for food security, sustainability, nutrition, and livelihood.

A total of 40 families, who were left displaced and unemployed during the pandemic, are now residing at Sunnyville and partaking in the urban farming program. They received 430 pieces of assorted farming equipment and 110 sacks of seeds as part Adopt-A-Community’s launch.

According to Concentrix SVP and PH Country Leader Amit Jagga, their company is thrilled with their newly-formed partnership with the QC gov’t, adding they’re dedicated to helping many more communities in the Philippines.

“Championing corporate social responsibility and global citizenship is important not just due to our size, but because it’s necessary for the future of the places where our people live and work. We are pleased that Concentrix’s Adopt-A-Community program started with no less than Sunnyville urban farm in Quezon City, where strong partnership with LGU enables us to work together not just to provide employment but also sustainable livelihood, food security, and environmental conservation,” he said.

“This is just the start of a long-term commitment—our staff are excited to contribute and help the community grow as our Concentrix Quezon City extended family. We are grateful to be in this journey together, and hope to replicate it across the nation where we operate,” Jagga added.
