To mark the launch of the government’s Philippine Motorcycle Tourism (PMT) program, numerous big biker groups gathered and toured more than 200 kilometers of the Calabarzon region over the weekend.
On Saturday (November 20), participants of the event gathered at Rizal Park for a short program organized by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) under Maria Antonette Velasco-Allones and Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Dionardo Carlos. Biker groups also received a walkthrough on safe travel during the ceremony.
The motorists, which numbered 250, were able to pick between the Cavite-Batangas route or Rizal-Laguna-Quezon way.
According to Allones, the riding initiative aims to present an alternative to the Filipino public, specifically when it comes to leisure travel.
“We continue to push the limits to create new ways to enjoy safe travel amid our present situation because we know that traveling and adventure give us purpose and new perspectives. This time, we are exploring the country on two wheels and presenting an alternative way of traveling to entice the public to discover more of the Philippines’ interesting culture, sites, cuisines and other tourism products,” she explained.
The tour ended at the Nuvali complex in Sta. Rosa, Laguna on Sunday (November 21) where participants received certificates of completion.
