Filipino boxer Jonas Sultan has officially arrived in New York ahead of his much-awaited outing against Puerto Rican fighter Carlos Caraballo on Saturday (October 30).

Sultan landed in the Big Apple on Tuesday (Wednesday, PH Time) and will face his undefeated foe at the ‘Mecca of Boxing,’ or more commonly known as the Madison Square Garden.

The 29-year-old Pinoy fighter, who flew from Los Angeles, was accompanied by chief trainer Joven Jimenez, reigning IBF super-flyweight king Jerwin Ancajas, who served as Sultan’s sparring partner at LA’s Wild Card gym, and promoter Brendan Gibbons.

Sultan, a former world title challenger, remains unfazed by Caraballo’s record, which has all been achieved via knockouts.

Before this fight, Sultan came off a seventh-round triumph against American Sharon Carter last August 14, which served as the undercard of the Casimero-Guillermo Rigondeaux title match held in Carson, California.

The 10-round bantamweight bout between Sultan and Caraballo will be staged by Top Rank and ESPN as an undercard for the Joe Zepada-Josue Vargaz welterweight match.
