After undergoing much-needed tweaks here and there, the Talibon Port has finally made a comeback, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
The restored harbor, located on the northern coast of Bohol island, has made the flow of cargo into the region more efficient than ever before thanks to the numerous upgrades implemented by the tandem of DOTr and the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA).
According to Transportation Secretary Art Tugade, the Talibon Port received a new Passenger Terminal building equipped with a 50 KVA Power Transformer, which significantly improved its accommodation capabilities.
The port’s bulkhead, covered walkways, and Ro-Ro ramp were also rehabilitated. In addition, its overall port area was also expanded.
With these changes now in place, Tugade said the lives of numerous communities that rely on the port will be uplifted.
