Makati’s new Paseo de Roxas-Villar underpass has been officially inaugurated!
The underground passage, which connects Ayala Triangle and Salcedo, is now available to pedestrians after the city government of Makati, Ayala Land Inc. (ALI), and Makati Central Estate Association (MACEA) opened the pathway publicly more than a week ago.
With the project now complete, foot traffic in the area will be significantly improved, especially for those going between the two points.
To complete the trouble-free walking experience, the underpass comes equipped with escalators, proper lighting, and signages with clear directions.
In a statement, Mayor Abby Binay said there are numerous projects still lined up for the city after this one, specifically for its revitalization.
“The underpass is just another part of the series of projects to make Makati City a walkable city,” Binay shared.
“So rest assured that on behalf of the local government of Makati, we are one with the vision of Ayala Land to make Makati a beautiful, walkable, peaceful, and safe city that everybody would want to live in,” she added.
