Senior citizens living in District 1 of Manila are set to receive a monthly allowance, the city government announced.
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna officially signed the release of the cash aid on Monday (September 20), which will entitle each senior citizen in the area to P 1,500.
The amount is for July, August, and September, which means the elderly will receive a total of Php 500 per month.
With Php 87,961,500 in funding allocated for the three-month allowance, a total of 39,582 District 1 senior citizens will benefit from the aid.
Domagoso also assured his constituents that support will flow continuously to those who are vulnerable, especially during this period wherein the more transmissible variant Delta is wreaking havoc in the National Capital Region.
