More than a year after staging a world title match, Quibors Boxing Promotion is coming back bigger with six matches scheduled for October at the Quibors Training Camp in Rizal, Laguna.
The local boxing unit’s undefeated fighter Weljon Mindoro and Jerwin Mejes of CamSur Sports Academy will battle in the eight-round super welterweight main event.
Quibors Boxing Promoter Gerry Balmes said they’re excited about the upcoming fight and are confident that Mindoro will perform.
“He is 21 years old with a perfect record of six wins, five coming by way of knockouts and one unanimous decision. So we are excited for this fight and for this event,” he said in a report from Manila Bulletin.
According to Balmes, the fight will be held at Quibors Fight Farm.
“We will hold it at the Quibors Fight Farm because it’s easier, facilities are already available if someone needs to stay for a 14-day quarantine. We’ll still implement strict health protocols under the government guidelines,” he shared.
The eight-round super lightweight fight between Romer Pinili and Kelvin Tenorio will also be held next month
Meanwhile, four six-round matches will be staged between the following:
- Jerald Into vs Ronnel Tabayab (Welterweight)
- Jerico Gatchalian vs Paolo Sy (Flyweight)
- Reynaldo Vargas vs Justine Pulido (Flyweight)
- Kresler Tenorio battles Jufel Salina (Super Bantamweight)
