NLEX Corporation announced on Wednesday (September 22) that the first five kilometers of the Connector Road Project will be completed in the first quarter of 2022.
According to company president Luigi Bautista, the project’s first section is already 45 percent completed and is set to be finished earlier than scheduled.
Bautista noted that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has assured that the delivery of the right of way (ROW) for the road plan will be fast-tracked.
“We are targeting to deliver the full right-of-way (ROW) for this section by next month so we can further accelerate the project,” DPWH Secretary Mark Villar confirmed.
The Php 23 billion road’s initial section will connect Caloocan Interchange to España Boulevard.
And once finished, the road will span a total of eight kilometers from C3 to Sta. Mesa in Manila.
It will accommodate 35,000 motorists daily and will “provide better access to Manila Ports and airports such as Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and Clark.”
Besides this, the infrastructure project will also streamline the transport of goods and services between Metro Manila and Luzon provinces.
