To help support and prop up the pandemic-hit tourism industry, the hospitality sector will bring back its September Online Sale (SOS), which offers deep discounts on travel packages.
The SOS initiative, which is already its second iteration, will be held from September 15 to October 15. It will be overseen by the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association (HSMA), who will provide overnight, staycation, and out-of-town packages with discounts of up to 70% from 79 hotels and resorts nationwide.
According to HSMA, they’ve briefed participating businesses and properties to be ready and follow the government’s latest travel guidelines.
The validity of vouchers could also be extended to a year depending on the state of domestic travel. They also ask travelers to get fully vaccinated and be ready for packages that require RT-PCR testing.
HSMA said they’re confident that they can deliver a safe environment for travelers who will avail of the discounted packages as 98% of employees in participating establishments have been vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.
HSMA President and Bayleaf Hotels Area Director of Sales and Marketing Benjamin Martinez said this year’s travel sale will have more variety.
“There are a lot of choices this year and we really expect to surpass last year,” he said.
Apart from room accommodation packages, this year’s travel sale will include food and beverage packages, event packages, and other ancillary packages.
