The SM Foundation and the Department of Health – Philippine Blood Center (DOH-PBC) have joined hands to organize a bloodletting activity to help those in need of blood transfusions.
The blood donation drive was held at SM’s Central Warehouse in Paranaque.
A total of 140 bags of blood were collected through volunteers, who consisted of SM employees, suppliers, and staff of delivery companies.
The donation drive aims to address the lack of blood supplies in medical centers and for those who are in medical emergencies.
The SM Foundation has been organizing bloodletting drives across its malls for years now, however, their operations were halted when the coronavirus pandemic hit the Philippines in 2020.
The SM Foundation has also partnered with the Philippine Red Cross to pursue its bloodletting initiative.
