El Nido has a new reason to be proud after one of its beaches entered Big 7 Travel’s list of the top 50 beaches around the world.
The travel website placed El Nido’s Secret Lagoon in fifth, describing the attraction as ‘untouched’ and praising its proximity to both water and nature.
“El Nido is a cluster of 45 islands just off the tip of Palawan, which is famous for its Secret Lagoon. Swim through a hole in the limestone rocks to enter a hidden bay with crystal clear water and soft sand,” the travel website explained.
“It feels untouched, with white sandy beaches and tropical jungle.” They wrote.
Big 7 Travel released their rankings in the first half of July, which they based on “aggregated scores from previous media results, official Blue Flag locations, and contributions from the Big 7 Travel editorial team.”
In 2020, the Philippines’ Boracay and Palawan – two famous beach spots in the country – were included in Big 7 Travel’s most beautiful places in the world list.
Palawan was also hailed as the best island in the world in July 2020 by the travel website Travel + Leisure.
