The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is ready and set up for its comeback season more than a year after the pandemic hit the country.
The season will officially begin this week on July 17 (Saturday) with the PVL releasing the initial match list of the Open Conference. This marks the league’s return to the scene after the cancellation of its 2020 season in March of last year.
Former Philippine Super Liga (PSL) teams Cherry Tiggo Crossover and the PLDT Power Hitters will play the first match of the returning tournament at 1 p.m.
It will be followed by the clash between first-time rivals Perlas Spikers and the Cignal HD Spikers at 3 p.m.
For the headlining match, Creamline Cool Smashers and PSL transferee Sta. Lucia Realtors is set to outdo one another in a match scheduled for 7 p.m. The upcoming clash will see former collegiate volleyball rivals Alyssa Valdez of Creamline and Sta Lucia’s Mika Reyes go head-to-head once again.
On Sunday, Petro Gazz Angels will battle against Black Army Mamba at 3 p.m.
And to close the league’s first weekend of match-ups, a face-off between Balipure Purest Water Defenders and Choco Mucho Flying Titans has been locked at 6 p.m.
All of the matches will be held at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte. The whole season is expected to last until August 2.
