Puerto Galera has relaxed its travel restrictions, allowing fully vaccinated tourists to forego confirmatory COVID-19 swab tests.
However, the said individuals will still undergo a ‘strict interview’ process and triaging before gaining official entry to the municipality.
“Yung amin strict border control ay mahigit 1 taon at kalahati nang pinapatupad. Until now meron po, RT-PCR pag di pa vaccinated. Yung fully vaccinated pinapapasok na namin,” Mayor Rocky Ilagan told ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo.
According to Ilagan, apart from the confirmatory swab tests, would-be tourists will still have to undergo standard safety protocols.
“Still maintained ang strict border protocol namin. Dadaan po sila sa minimum health standards na aming requirement,” he emphasized.
Once approved for entry, tourists are given QR codes. These codes will be used to track the movement of people, specifically for contact-tracing purposes.
Here are the updated travel requirements:
- Negative Result of COVID-19 Testing (RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen)
- Receipt of the Covid-19 Testing
- Vaccination Card (No Covid 19 test for fully vaccinated travelers)
- Confirmed Hotel Booking (provided by us)
- SPaSS (if by Public Ferry)
- Puerto Galera Tourist App
- Any Valid ID or Passport
