This year’s Miss Universe Philippines is now on track as the organization released the candidates that will be vying for the pageant’s most coveted crown.

In a series of Facebook posts, the beauty organization – which took over the Miss U franchise from Binibining Pilipinas in 2019 – revealed the top 100 Filipinas who are in the running for the title.

The candidates were screened virtually for this year due to the pandemic.

This batch includes familiar names such as Asia’s Next Top Model season 5 winner Maureen Wroblewitz, Miss Globe 2019 2nd runner-up Leren Mae Bautista, Miss Supranational 2018 1st runner-up Katrina Dimaranan, and actress Kisses Delavin.

For this year, the pageant will start with all 100 delegates who will undergo various remote challenges and tasks. They will be narrowed down to 75, then 50 based on the votes from the Miss Universe Philippines mobile app.

Half will be able to travel to Manila for in-person interviews with Miss U Philippines. After that, 30 will move forward to the coronation and will compete live for the crown.

Miss Universe PH’s coronation night is scheduled for September 25. Incumbent crown-holder Rabiya Mateo will be present to induct her successor.
