With the national government ramping up vaccination activities and the number of new infections on the low, the Philippines is expected to start recovering from the global health crisis caused by the coronavirus in the second half of 2021.
This is especially true for the tourism industry, which is one of the hardest-hit sectors when the COVID-19 virus took root in the country.
Cebu Pacific is planning to take advantage of this improving situation by gradually upping the number of its domestic flights. Of course, the Philippine commercial flyer will do this by following strict safety protocols.
Apart from this, Cebu Pacific is also ramping up its Test Before Boarding (TBB) initiative, which is one of the cheapest RT-PCR tests at only Php 2,500. They’ve partnered with Health Metrics, Inc. (HMI) and Safeguard DNA Diagnostics Inc. (SDDI) to offer the service to passengers who booked on Cebu Pacific and Cebgo.
There are HMI clinics in Pasay and Makati while SDDI has facilities in Mandaluyong, Bacolod, and Davao. Results of the RT-PCR test will be available after 48 hours, but if you’re looking to fast-track things it can be released in a day for Php 3,200.
If you’ve got time to spare, take this opportunity to book yourself a flight and get back on all the summer activities you missed out on. Here’s a list of the best dive spots you can visit during the pandemic through Cebu Pacific.
1.Boljoon and Alcoy, Cebu
Boljoon and Alcoy, municipalities situated next to each other in Cebu, houses a wide array of diving spots, which is home to unique and rare marine life like green turtles and the Lembeh Seadragon.
The towns have now opened for admission, specifically for tourists looking to explore what the sea has to offer.
Located in the northern tip of Cebu, Malapascua is one of the best diving places you can find in the region of Visayas. The area hosts numerous diving spots that will allow you to mingle with different fish species.
Aside from this, visitors also have access to other activities such as cave exploring, you can even mingle with sharks at Gato Island!
Siquijor Island is another famous diving spot just next to Cebu. Those looking to explore underwater are welcome to choose from 10 different diving spots around the island.
The island also hosts two marine sanctuaries and offers muck diving, providing visitors a different perspective on what lies below the sea.
Found in the southern islands of Cebu, Moalboal is another ideal destination for those looking to explore life under the sea.
Visitors will be able to swim with marine creatures like turtles, sardines, and even sharks. These activities are available for both rookies and veteran divers.
Though things have calmed down significantly, it’s still important for safety protocols to be observed.
We also advise would-be flyers or tourists to conduct in-depth research on the destinations they’ll be visiting. Or better yet, contact the establishments before they make a flight booking to learn more about what’s allowed and what not to do.
