Korean girl group Blackpink is set to connect with Filipino fans through a digital event courtesy of Globe Telecommunications.
According to the telco giant, the upcoming virtual meeting was organized for their Kmmunity PH Facebook Group. The event is scheduled for June 18 at 8 p.m.
In a statement released on Wednesday (June 16), Globe said the meet-up is meant to lift the spirits of Filipinos by bringing them closer to their favorite K-Pop idols.
“Always looking to uplift Filipinos in their everyday lives, Globe Telecom is committed to creating innovative ways for all fans to stay connected with each other and with their favorite idols,” the company explained.
Those who are members of Globe’s FB group will gain exclusive access to the online meet-and-greet with members of the group, Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa, as they greet and engage with their Filipino fans.
This is the second time Globe has organized a virtual event featuring Blackpink. In January of this year, the company sponsored the all-girl group’s “The Show” digital concert, which was part of Globe’s partnership with Blackpink under its ‘Reinvent Your World’ campaign.
It was initially scheduled for a December 2020 outing but had to move to 2021 due to restrictions put up by the South Korean Government, which was in response to a spike of COVID-19 cases.
