Binibining Pilipinas 2021’s National Costume competition has officially started!
The virtual presentation for the event has been released by the organization in time for Independence Day. It features 34 candidates from all over the country sporting different garbs that represent their regions of origin.
Out of this selection, only 10 will be included in the National Costume Fashion Show, which will be streamed on YouTube and Facebook on June 27.
The winning costumes will be chosen through a voting scheme, which will see candidates’ ensembles posted on individual TikTok pages where fans can weigh in through likes. Voting is also available through the BBP website.
After this, another round of voting will be conducted to determine who among the top 10 will win the Best National Costume – to be announced on the grand coronation night on July 11.
According to BBP, “strict IATF health and safety protocols were implemented throughout the creation of the video.”
“The BPCI, candidates, and their production team enforced test requirements and maintained social distancing,” it added.
This year’s event will be hosted by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Miss Grand International 2016 1st runner-up Nicole Cordoves and will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The coronation night will be aired on A2Z and will be live-streamed simultaneously on BBP’s Official Youtube channel.
The pageant is set to crown four queens, specifically Binibining Pilipinas International, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International, Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental, and Binibining Pilipinas Globe.
