Korean boyband BTS added new trophies to their long list of achievements after nabbing four awards at the recently concluded 2021 Billboard Music Awards.

The idol group swept all of the titles for categories they were nominated in, specifically in the Top Duo / Group, Top Social Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, and the Top Selling Song.

Out of all the trophies, BTS was most consistent with the Top Social Artist category, which they obtained for the fifth consecutive time. This year, the group managed to outdo Filipino homegrown pop group SB19, Blackpink, Seventeen, and Ariana Grande for the honor.

In a video acceptance message, the group’s J-Hope and Suga thanked their fans for the award.

“Top Social Artist for five years in a row. Thank you, ARMY and BBMAs for such an incredible title,” J-Hope said.

“Let’s continue to stay connected as always,” Suga added.

For the Top Selling Song category, the 7-man group beat out the likes of Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Beyonce, The Weeknd, Gabby Barrett, and Charlie Puth with their hit song ‘Dynamite.’

“Thank you BBMA for the Top Selling Song award. Which is amazing and huge. It is really an honour to be awarded with such a significant title. We want to share some fresh energy with everyone with Dynamite,” the group’s leader RM said while accepting the award.

Meanwhile, it’s BTS’ second time winning the Top Duo/Group award, which they first acquired in 2019. The Asian pop unit managed to win against the AC/DC, AJR, Dan + Shay, and Maroon 5.

Apart from collecting trophies, BTS also performed their new single ‘Butter’ at the BBMAs.

This marks their fourth feature on the show with the first in 2018 for their song ‘Fake Love,’ the second in 2019 with ‘Boy with Luv,’ and the third in 2020 for their chart-topping single ‘Dynamite.’

This year’s Billboard Music Awards was hosted by Nick Jonas and was aired live at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.
