Filipino-American artist H.E.R is set to take center stage alongside award-winning musicians Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez for Global Citizen’s COVID-19 vaccine fundraiser.

The concert special – Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World – was organized to support medical workers around the world, particularly in underprivileged countries, when it comes to COVID-19 vaccine access.

The show is set to be headlined by Lopez and will be hosted by Gomez. Other artists in the roster of performers include – Eddie Vedder, J Balvin, and the Foo Fighters.

The show is scheduled to air on May 8th and will be broadcast on multiple television channels, which include ABC, CBS, and FOX. It will also be available on streaming sites iHeartMedia and YouTube.

It’s expected to be shot at Los Angeles’ new So-Fi Stadium. However, details on the date of the shooting and if a live audience will be present haven’t been confirmed.

According to Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans, things are not set in stone yet. He mentions that they’ll be making further announcements in the coming weeks regarding the showcase and the final list of performers.

“It is a very diverse cast. Almost all of the artists to say that they want to collaborate in one way, shape or form with other artists, so we are going to have a ton of additional announcements over the next few weeks to share with you as all of those collaborations lock in,” Evans told US magazine Variety

He also hyped H.E.R’s planned performance, calling it ‘super cool.’

“I can tell you that H.E.R. is planning something super, super cool, involving hundreds of other people as well, which is really exciting,” he shared.

In the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards Show, Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson – better known as H.E.R – won the Song of the Year for her tune ‘I Can’t Breathe.’

In last year’s iteration, she was nominated in multiple categories – Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best R&B Performance, and Best R&B Song.
